The Big Number 2

For Ezri’s birthday, we had friends over to the house for a playdate.

Ezri got a BIG birthday hug from her pal.

We had Ezri’s favorite snacks with lots of fruit and cheese sandwiches. The two almost one-year-olds who attended did a good job on the cheese sandwiches.

We had a break to watch the train go by our window. You can also see our big icicles in this photo. Ezri calls them “bicycles.”

We shared Ezri’s favorite book Pete the Cat by Eric Litwin with her friends.

We did a rhyme with fingertapping.

We danced.

Ezri was not sure about cupcakes last year at her first birthday. This year she knows she likes them – especially these homemade chocolate ones where she got to pick the frosting color – GREEN(Thanks, Michele). She left nothing but crumbs which you can see all over her.

After her playdate, it was naptime. But in the evening the birthday celebration continued with a trip out to The Two Toots Cafe with her grandparents. Here she is watching the model train go by our table.

At Two Toots, Ezri got to ride Champion the Wonderhorse.
She loved the gentle ride on this ancient metal horse.
She even suckered grandpa into an additional ride by saying, “Put money in here,” and pointing at the coin slot.

After her ride she said, “Thank you, Champion.” Then “Ezri hug Champion” which she did. “Kiss Champion,” which she also did. When we left the restaurant Ezri made sure to say, “Bye-bye, Champion.”

A great second birthday of fun! Thanks to friends, toddlers, grandparents, and, of course, Champion the Wonderhorse.
