Spring at the arboretum

They still fit! They tried to convince me I could fit in there with them but I decided that sounded uncomfortable.

The girl keeps getting bigger. The acorn stays the same size.

First Arboretum Trip of Spring

I’ve been taking photos of Ezri inside this acorn tunnel, but that didn’t happen this trip. This trip she was a climber.

She even climbed the big acorn.

And she had company. These two girls took off their shoes so that they could be “the king of the world without shoes.”

Morton Saturday

She zips through the acorn tunnel pretty quickly now, but we caught a couple snaps.

This little house was a pretend take-out window. Ezri brought me cookies, juice and muffins. When I tried ordering a pepperoni and cheese pizza, I was informed she only had macaroni & cheese pizza. I decided to give it a try. I think she may have a culinary idea that could sell.

Summer Day

Ezri wore her hat for our whole visit to the arboretum today. This is a first. She loves to put hats on, but usually after a few minutes they are off and she is onto the next thing.
Today she actually complained when the hat came off.

Here we are playing peekaboo around a pillar.

Ezri loves bark mulch. It is so much fun to pile, shovel and move from place to place. She also loves puddles for splashing in. But, wait, what genius combined these two into the perfect Ezri plaything? It is a puddle full of bark mulch. We were here a long time (for Ezri this means about 15 minutes) moving the mulch around and splashing.

Here is the expression I got from Ezri when I mentioned there was a slide at the top of the walkway. She moves fast when there’s sliding to be had. We went down the slide many times.

They were handing out watering cans and letting the toddlers help water in the Creative Garden. Ezri enjoyed helping water the flowers and also her feet, her hat, and other toddlers.

We also took a photo with our favorite acorn tunnel.

Sometimes, it’s nice to take a look back.

This is Ezri’s first time at this acorn shaped play structure at the Morton Arboretum back in October of last year at around 8 months. I’d put her in the acorn and she’d sit and smile and look around maybe try some crawling.

This is her today in the acorn. She runs around to the back of the acorn and then runs through it (or slides through it or sometimes crawls through). She’s bigger and faster and still fabulous.

And when I think how truly amazing the difference is I remind myself she has doubled in age between these two visits.

Another nice fall day at Morton

squash

Ezri likes to put hay in her mouth. Amanda does not like removing it. We didn’t hangout here by the hay bales for too long.

The acorn tunnel in the toddler garden is a good spot for Ezri to roll around.
