LED barrettes for Ivan.
Ivan announced he wanted LEDs in his hair at 7:40 and Eric had the clips ready and in by 8 a.m.
Not every dad has LEDs and coin batteries ready to go.

We had sangria or fruit flavored lemonade (depending on age) at Buca di Beppo Italian restaurant.
The various nude art from statue to photos was a big topic of conversation. The kids were pretty sure that one of the photos of the pope (not nude) on the wall was watching them FOR REAL.

This outing makes me hanker for a minivan. Look at them all comfy in the backseats. Suburban parenthood.

The honeysuckle is in a million blooms and the after school popsicle feels like the perfect happy hour treat.

I was gifted with an emerald frog necklace, so Ezri and I now both have birthstone necklaces modeled here.

The kids would like me to share the sock sloths Tam made me for my birthday.

For Ivan having photos taken before cupcakes was very hard. He really likes Busy Bee Bakery cupcakes and would like to have more than a dozen on his birthday.
