She loves Kindergarten.
Her friend, Alice, is not in her class. Alice is in the morning kindergarten. This was a big disappointment. But Alice has a big brother who gets out of school at the same time as Ezri. Alice does not stand and wait for her brother at his classroom door. She waits for Ezri at pick-up time at the Kindergarten door to give her hugs and play on the playground if there’s time. Ezri is more excited to see Alice at pick-up time than she is to see me.
She likes her teacher, her classroom and her new friends.
“I wish Kindergarten was every day!”
Nice that it is each weekday. She is very excited to be a Kindergartner.

There was also a lot of silliness.

After finishing her own frozen yogurt treat, Ezri was more than willing to help Ivan finish his.

Ivan was happy to share. It all worked out beautifully.

They both visit each other’s bunks. Eric built the steps because Ivan is not trusted on the ladder that came with the bed from IKEA. Cozy new nooks for both kids. They were so excited it took longer to get to bed last night, but hopefully they’ll adjust soon.

Eric’s been building stairs as part of a bunk bed project for the kids.

Both kids helped sand the stairs and Ezri got apply polyurethane under close supervision.

Ezri is “an Anna” and “the Elsa” tries to freeze her with her snow queen powers.  Ivan as “the Olaf” tags “Annas” to unfreeze them with the warmth of his love.  So, basically just freeze tag.

And we had a picnic too.

We left town for a week and the garden has been busy in our absence.

Our sunflower has its first bloom.

And the tomatoes have arrived.

A proper reward is important after a nature walk.
