This miniburger is actually a thin mint cookie between two vanilla wafers with coconut flakes dyed green and frosting for condiments.

First Day of Preschool
August 27th, 2013 — first day of school, preschool
We walked the 6 blocks to preschool gathering dandelions along the way to give to her teachers.
She carried her backpack with her snack and folder in it the whole way.
She declared that today is the second day of preschool because we attended a 30 min. “meet your teacher” session at the school yesterday.
But, this is the first real day of preschool for the year.
She is so excited to be back with her teachers and preschool friends.

Ezri Speaks
August 14th, 2013 — Ezri speaks
e: I am a very good helper.
A: Are you dusting?
e: No. I am undusting with my unduster. Sometimes when I’m not undusting I ride it for being a witch.
I teach Ivan lots of things, even some bad things like not listening.
Here’s Ivan requesting his sister read him a book and Ezri explaining that she’s too busy just now.
(Ivan chasing Ezri down the hallway carrying his book Go, Maisy, Go)
i : Evvie, read Maisy! Evvie, read Maisy!
e: I am very busy working taping these ponies mouths. They will go crazy if I don’t.
We were talking about the beginning of preschool. I said I did not know who Ezri’s teacher would be this year and this is what she said.
“I hope I have my regular teacher. Mrs. Paul is the greatest teacher ever. Other kids might think their teacher is the greatest, but the real greatest teacher is Mrs. Paul.” Today the letter came that Ezri is placed in Mrs. Paul’s class this fall. Her face lit up with joy and she said, “I am so excited for that.”
Playing in the car:
e: Let’s play I Spy With My Little Eye!
A: Okay.
e: I spy something green.
A: Is it grass?
e: No.
A: Is it a tree?
e: No.
A: Is it shrubbery?
e: No.
A: I give up what is it?
e: A conifer.
A: I never would’ve guessed that.
e: Let’s play again. I spy something blue.
A: Is it a car?
e: No.
A: Is it a street sign.
e: No.
A: Is it the sky?
e: No.
A: I give up what is it?
e: I forget now. I don’t see it anymore.

Lizardmen are invading and threaten to overrun Ponyville. Team Pony, which includes a griffin and a Spider Queen, must stop them.
Before the role play, the girls were styling the ponies. Ezri said, “Their hair must be extra fancy for Battle.” Lydia said, “We must do the pony’s hair so they will be ready for WAR.” They had a pre-battle fasion show too I believe.
The game almost didn’t happen due to a pitched shrieking outburst of contention over the Pinky Pie pony. But, in the end Team Pony stopped the Lizard People and Ponyville was saved. Whew! Go, Team Pony. Thanks to our friend, Rich, for being uber patient DMing with small gamers.
Happy 37th, Daddy!
August 7th, 2013 — birthday
Ezri helped make belated birthday cupcakes and picked out their toppers.
This photo was the answer to, “Which one do you think Eric will want?”
Here’s dad and Ezri cleaning off the feet of their superhero toppers with their tongues.
This is the birthday card Ezri drew of her and Eric hugging.
One popular pony
August 4th, 2013 — at play
Ezri has been devoting a lot of time to bathing and styling her plastic ponies.
She likes to give them baths almost each afternoon lately.
So, it wasn’t surprising when this pony was the big hit from the bag of resold play dough toys.
First you feed it snacks – often extruded “french fries” from another play dough toy.
Then it grows a mane and tail which Ezri can style and then trim with the play dough scissors.
And if your little brother cuts off all it’s hair, you can always make more.
Amanda, Quick! Take a picture of how good Ivan and Max Monkey and I are sharing the chair!
