Happily After Hours – late night library party
July 25th, 2017 — library
Naper Library hosted an after hours party for members for their Book & Cookie club.
Ezri brought her friend Alice and there was trivia, giant board games, pizza, scavenger hunt, stories and more.
She also stayed up until nearly midnight.

Clapping games in the dark, closed library
This seems like a good post to add these two photos of an earlier Book and Cookie meeting on the book Sidekicks by Dan Santat.
She made a pom pom creature for the librarian who leads the club.
Here she is posing with the book discussion title of the month.
Super Hero Night School
July 15th, 2015 — dress-up, library
Super Ezri/Wonder Woman and Super Smash/Iron Man both graduated from the library’s superhero academy tonight.
They aimed at villains and knocked them over.
They practiced webslinging with Spider-man.
They raced through an obstacle course.
Epic, good times! We are also loving the book Ivan received as his summer reading prize entitled Big, Mean Mike. It has monster trucks and cute fluffy bunnies. Perfect combo.
Star Wars Reads Day at the library

Miss Tracy constucting a Jedi on the flannelboard with help from the audience. The audience thought that perhaps the Jedi should carry a baby Ewok rather than a light saber, but Miss Tracy went with the classic light saber. The Jedi also got nice Princess Leia style buns. It was a very fun storytime.
Posing with Vader and the astromech droid Ezri decorated herself. Some of the red dots are lasers. Some red dots shoot flames. The blue dots can squirt water.
Stuffed animals sleeping over at the library.

This morning we packed up Ada the octopus and Dragon the dragon for Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the library.
Each stuffed animal was packed in a bag. Ada was in an ocean bag and took a pink blanket and a small pink puppy to be her stuffed animal in case she gets lonely and can’t sleep at the library. Dragon was in an outer space bag. Ivan assured me that Dragon loves outer space. He took a flannel baby blanket and Peanut the pink elephant as his stuffed animal.
Ivan giving his dragon goodbye hugs.
We rode the elevator with its sparkly floor up to the 2nd floor and admired the view there.
We are looking forward to seeing what Ada and Dragon do at the library this weekend. Ezri thinks Miss Mouse might play school with them and she would be the teacher and the stuffed animals would be the kindergartens. Ivan thinks Miss Mouse might let the visitors sleep in her basket.
Update: Ivan informed me that Dragon breathes fire when he is lonely. This was a worry for him during Dragon’s time away. The librarians informed me Dragon was well behaved during the sleepover. Ivan and I were glad Dragon did not damage the newly renovated library. The booklet of photos showed the Ada and Dragon had a great time in the library playing with Miss Mouse and exploring.
