The Scene from Trick or Treating

Trick-or-treating was rainy and wet, but with friends like these it was still super fun!

Ezri speaks

rabbitsbite

Singing I’m on top of the world, Ezri asks about the top of the world and if she can stand on it. I ask her how would you tell where the top of the world is. Ezri says, “Well, if there are words on it then you can tell by the words which way is up. And sometimes the tag is on the bottom.”

“Hippos can close their noses underwater!” Ezri is now reading nonfiction books and sharing fun facts with me.

Ezri has passed through the why phase and into the what if phase. Her brother is catching it.
“What if I took a banana and I put half of it in my mouth like this?” “What if the whole house were made of cheesy dibbles?” “What if we had a toilet on top of the car and used it while we were driving somewhere?”
How is a parent to answer these deep questions?

“If you can make a bracelet with just your fingers then you can always make one. Cause you always have your fingers. Unless your fingers get cut off.”

Warm fuzzy party at school

The kids in first grade earn cotton balls for the “warm fuzzy” jar whenever a teacher notices them being kind or helpful. They filled the jar and voted to have a “tech party” where they were allowed to bring an electronic toy to school and play with it during a 20 minute free play.

Ezri brought her “fur real friend” Mew Mew the robotic cat.
