Keeping the Tooth Fairy Busy – Tooth Loss Trifecta

Ezri has been avoiding wiggling her very loose front teeth for weeks. She would not eat apples. She chewed her crackers on the sides of her mouth.

After a tickle attack where Ezri got a bit knocked, one of the loose teeth fell out.

First Week of Kindergarten

firstweekkindergarten

She loves Kindergarten.
Her friend, Alice, is not in her class. Alice is in the morning kindergarten. This was a big disappointment. But Alice has a big brother who gets out of school at the same time as Ezri. Alice does not stand and wait for her brother at his classroom door. She waits for Ezri at pick-up time at the Kindergarten door to give her hugs and play on the playground if there’s time. Ezri is more excited to see Alice at pick-up time than she is to see me.
She likes her teacher, her classroom and her new friends.
“I wish Kindergarten was every day!”
Nice that it is each weekday. She is very excited to be a Kindergartner.

Playground News

Here she is as the queen of the web.

Ezri can also now go all the way across the monkey bars at our near park. ALL THE WAY ACROSS with no help. She is truly the amazing Ezri.

End of Preschool Picnic

After 2 years as one of Mrs. Paul’s Pals, Ezri is done with preschool and will be moving on up to Kindergarten in the fall.

Here she is with her friend, Ellie, at the picnic celebrating.

The assembled rising kindergarteners received cheers and claps.

Here she is with Mrs. Paul who Ezri declared to be “the greatest teacher ever. Other kids might think their teacher is the greatest, but the real greatest teacher is Mrs. Paul.”

Keeping the Tooth Fairy busy

toothfairy

Ezri has had two wiggly teeth for a couple months now. She has been carefully brushing and chewing to avoid upsetting them. The adult teeth have been visible behind the wiggly baby ones. This past Sunday she lost one tooth and today the other wiggler went.

None of her original middle four bottom teeth remain.

First time ice skating

Ezri was sure she could ice skate because she had practiced in socks without grippies on our hardwood floor.
She had also ice “skated” on an ice coated cement step outside in her boots.
So, skating at a rink was something she was absolutely confident she could do.

I was afraid that her over confidence might lead to disappointment the first time she fell on the ice.
But, she was dedicated to ice skating and worked hard to get herself off of the wall.
I will say I was working pretty hard to keep her up as evidenced by my arm and back muscle soreness today.

When she went skating without me supporting her, I felt like waving my arms and yelling “Look, no hands!”
She was very proud of how well she could get herself up to standing after she fell down. She’s right it’s more important to be able to get yourself back up than it is not to fall down.

It was a mincing skate with short steps and limited steering capabilities, but we had fun and I feel we’ll be back at the rink again soon.

This short clips shows her skating. She fell down at the end of it and while I stopped recording to help her back up, she did not need any assistance. Go, Ezri!

Ezri went to her first movie in the theater.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 in 3D.

I have never seen a 3D movie in the theater.  So, she’s one up on me.  The kids are enjoying ring pops.

She was helping celebrate her friends J turning 6 today,

Her first tooth falls out.

Here she is smiling on Wednesday which was our travel day.  She lost her first tooth on Friday night.  Her brother helped by tackling her at bedtime and knocking it loose. She said an enthusiastic thank you to him.

The tooth fairy left four shiny quarters.  One was a Montana quarter and another had a buffalo on it.

The tooth loss happened mere moments after reading Fancy Nancy and the Too Loose Tooth as a bedtime story.

I’ll post a photo of the gap toothed smile when I have photos off my camera.

Today’s favorite Ezri quote was said in a quiet moment during a nature walk as we overlooked a babbling stream. “I wish we could fly high like birds. And that there were flying potties.”  Always thinking about the important amenities.

Loose Tooth – Oh MY!

loose tooth

She is asking if the tooth fairy is real. I’ve been saying that I think if her tooth falls out and she leaves it under her pillow a present might magically appear. I’m not saying there is a tooth fairy, but. . . hang on to that tooth and we’ll tuck under your pillow and just see what happens.
