August 30th, 2012 — Uncategorized
“Yes, I did like preschool. I liked my teacher. She is a helper. I liked going outside and playing on the playground.”
Ezri is 100% ready to return to preschool. It was good times.
First Day of Preschool
August 29th, 2012 — first day of school, preschool
Ezri woke up this morning with a little cough and saying, “I have snot.”
I wondered if she was too sick for her first day of preschool.
I asked if she felt sick.
“No, it’s just a little cold.”
Do you feel like you need to rest and stay home?
An emphatic, “No!” with her eyebrows furrowed. “It’s Preschool.”
Okay, I get it. You are ready for your first day of preschool.
She was not running a fever and so we made the call to send her to her first day.
She is so excited for preschool.
Does she look ready?
She’s got her backpack packed and on the list it says to bring your smile.
Ezri’s got that too.

Did you know our hotel room came with a secret hideout?
Well, it did,
i
Quotes and conversations with Ezri:
“This is my foot. It is super foot. Like a bird but without wings. It does this on bad guys.” (stomping motion there at the end)
“Can tape worms have tape worms?”
Ezri’s words for the personal light and fan on the airplane.
“My little light,” and “my little breeze” respectively.
Ezri wearing a crocodile nose and a superhero cape, “I am a vampire. I am going to steal your gums!”
Me: Is that what vampires do?
Ezri: Yes, they steal your gums.
Me: What are gums?
Ezri pointing: This part above your teeth.
Me: How do they steal them?
Ezri: They have very sharp knives.
Me: What do they do with them?
Ezri: Turn them into tooth fairy dust!
Ezri may be under educated on the topic of vampires.
“I have mad skills because I am a mad scientist.”
After thoroughly examining me with her play doctor’s kit.
Me: How am I doing?
Dr. Ezri: Well, you’re not going to die. So that’s good.
Chico Resort and Hot Springs
August 23rd, 2012 — grandparents, traveling
Going through some vacation snapshots.
Here’s Ezri on the climbing boulders in front of “The Bungalow” where we stayed.

The pool and hot tub were heated from natural hot springs. Ahhh. . .

Lots of stairs back up to the Bungalow from the pool.

Sitting in front of the horse barn where Ezri got to pet a horse named Daisy and see two foxy ladies on motorcycles wearing genuine fox tails with their leather pants.

Thanks to Chico and Grandparents for the good times
Vacation was grand. It is good to be home.

Dirt castles
August 5th, 2012 — Uncategorized

Ezri has started to become quite creative in her play–particularly when she can wrangle accomplices into her schemes. Today at the park she convinced a friend to make dirt castles with her. It was quite the endeavor, at one point involving dirt being collected from across the field and brought over to the “castle”. Ivan, of course, was happy to participate.
