Tonight Ezri kept shifting around during bedtime stories trying to get comfy in my lap. I realized this is happening because my lap is shrinking. Sorry, firstborn, you are already having to learn how to share mom with the fetus.
Her hair is wet in this photo because she stuck her head in the frog fountain.
Ezri is having trouble with making decisions.
This morning I asked her if she would like vanilla or banana yogurt.
She looked up and said, “Vanilla!” paused a moment and followed it up with, “and then banana.”
Ezri had a great time at her 3rd Passover Seder on Monday evening with her Grandma Liz and Grandpa Harvey and assembled math professors.
This year she was old enough to help with one of the four questions during the seder. She also really liked grandma’s homemade matzah ball soup. She liked dancing to Chad Gadya and trying on yamulkes from her grandparents’ collection.
But, the highlight of her night was finding the afikomen. I think she’d have done that even without getting the bonus of a fish shaped purse and chocolate ladybug as a prize for returning it.
I, of course, was too busy eating to take any photos of the occasion. There’s always Ezri’s fourth seder. . .
So, I leave you instead with this photo of Ezri who has put on her dads sneakers and announced, “Mama, I am ready to go to the GYM!”
Also, she really wanted me to teach her how to tie shoes. I tried to tell her to just be happy about how cool velcro is for now, but she really wanted to try. We worked on it together.
Eric and I would not be into waiting in line to take photos with large costumed characters if Ezri did not LOVE LOVE LOVE them. At Halloween she met Curious George and followed him around. And the love continues with a giant bunny who was a part of the dancing and egg celebration at a park district program. She waited pretty patiently for her turn to meet the bunny which is AMAZING for her age and excitement.
I tried to get her to look at the camera, but she really only had eyes for “Mister Bunny.”
Mister Bunny accepted high fives and hugs. Ezri gave him both.
We also did a very easy paper egg scavenger hunt and there was a rainy day egg grab in the gym. Ezri discovered her plastic egg had tootsie rolls inside. She declared them “yummy” but also was surprised at how sticky they are. Here she is with the classic something-is-stuck-in-my-teeth look.
I am glad Eric did not inform us (and particularly Ezri) of the arrival of cupcakes in the house until after dinner.
Once she knew they were in the house, all she wanted to sing happy birthday and eat a cupcake. It is not particularly a birthday. These are just happy bonus cupcakes.
Why wait for anyone to help remove the cupcake paper?
Both Ezri I had special sprinkles on our cupcakes. Thanks, Charlotte.
When it comes to cupcakes forget women and children, it is frosting and sprinkles first! Ezri ate her cupcake frosting first and then looked at the remaining cake and considered. Eric promised the cake was good too. So, she ate that too.
When washing her hands afterwards she found a stray green sprinkle and said, “sprinkle!” nabbing it for her mouth before it hit the soap.
We also discovered that getting frosting on your nose is possibly genetic. She totally gets that from me.
Ezri liked this cupcake so much she licked the cupcake liner and then said, “Ezri try Mama’s,” pointing at my cupcake liner. I gave it to her and earned a smile and a, “Thanks, Mama.” Good to the last lick. Thanks, Cupcake Fairy.
