“I would like to plant some dandelions. Not where they’d take over, but maybe in our weed garden.” Yes, there is a patch of our yard we call the weed garden. I have agreed to planting some dandelions there this year.
See that yellow under her nose. She loves how dandelions smell.

We collected Dandelions at the park.

The kids used them to decorate my purse.

We took them home where we now have a small floral arrangement of dandelions brightening our kitchen table.
We also took some “hoo-RAY it’s spring” selfies at the near park.

April 13th, 2016 — friends
Three families who get together once in a while for a “half sleepover.”
We have dinner and then try to get all the kids to sleep or at least pretend to while the grown-ups play boardgames together. After games we carry sleepy children to their respective homes to wake in their own beds.
This is a photo of all the kids at half sleepover. It is not a good photo, but look how they love building with the magnetiles. And they are all in the same place at the same time.
The kids range from 4 to 11, when we started half sleepover two of them had not yet been born.

Now that they’ve gone back home, Ezri is asking a lot about when we are visiting Bozeman and talking plans for the next time Tam and Mark visit.
She enjoyed mornings chatting with Tam and doing jigsaw puzzles on her iPad. These two are the morning people in the house.
She liked crafting a rabbit with her and going out for a fancy dinner with all four of her grandparents at Greek Islands.
We took Tam and Mark to Zootopia at the Tivoli and our favorite ice cream shop to introduce them to the kids’ favorite flavors of Lighthouse Cherry (Ezri) and Blue Moon (Ivan). Blue Moon’s biggest thrill is that the next day after consumption Ivan’s poop is green.
Ezri enjoyed telling her grandparents about her fairy powers and her friends and her toys and her books.
I loved this visit too.

Grandpa Mark thinking hard about which is his favorite LPS pet.

We went with plastic eggs with candy and tiny treasures inside.
On the hunt around the yard. . .

Final tally
Ezri = 27 eggs
Ivan = 22 eggs
2 eggs outstanding which needed parental pointing for the finding.

Opening of the eggs. . .

Contents of Ezri’s basket after the egg opening. Eric just had some LEGO minifigs hidden in the basement waiting for such an occasion.

Both children claimed not to have experienced the wonder of a cream egg.
Both experienced the joy and liked them very much.

The cosplayers proved just as kind to the kids as in years past.
Pink Princess Power
Ezri asked to take this photo for her uncle who likes Adventure Time. That’s Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time.

Eric put together Mario and Princess Peach costumes at the kids’ request after he suggested Ivan could be Mario before a grow mushroom and he could be the after.

I’d rather hug a Wookiee.
This guy was a little startled by Ezri’s enthusiasm, but rolled with it. Ivan then came up and gently pat his fur.

When Ezri asked for a photo with these ladies, they asked if she wanted to hold a blaster. She did.

Ezri’s Elsa love has faded from its height in the past year – but these two were very gracious and Ezri loved meeting them.

She got a new comic book signed by the artist at the AW YEAH! comics booth.

Here a snow trooper and a tie-fighter pilot are competing to get Ezri to pick a favorite. The snow trooper gave her a high five, so the tie-fighter pilot is trying to do better by offering a ten.

Ezri and Sharon sold
31 boxes of Thin Mints
Samoas came in a distant second with 12 boxes
It was a sunny day and I am thankful for all the people who stopped to buy cookies or share their Girl Scout memories.

Ezri is very proud of hand stitching the bottom birdie in this photo from a sewing kit she got for her birthday. The birdie really looks like she belongs with these owls and they’ve been moving through the house as a flock.
