The doctor confirms Ezri is pushing 12 lbs. Soon she will outweigh the household cats, though the big tom might be 15 lbs so she’s still got some growing to do!

Yesterday Ezri got vaccinated. I felt bad because I knew what was coming but she was unaware that the nurse was prepping a needle. Then came the shot, the scream, and the tears and wobbly lower lip that said how could you! While I am 100% certain it is better than getting diptheria the vaccination lead to the fussiest afternoon and evening Ezri has had yet. She was not feeling well. Meghan was unfortunate enough to babysit for Ezri during this period when she was either asleep or crying. In this photo the preferable sleep is displayed.

Today is much better and Ezri is happy or asleep. In this picture of her trip to the Morton Arboretum she is again asleep, but happily so. It’s so nice to have a 70 degree day after so much winter and so GREAT that Ezri is feeling better. She still has the tell-tale band-aids on both chubby thighs.

EZRI IS 2 MONTHS and quickly passing monkey-monkey’s impressive size.
That 2nd photo has bonus spit-up because my girl knows what to do for the camera.

Ezri is very much a baby and not a newborn anymore.
I packed away the last of her newborn clothes and have started dressing her in clothes labeled for 3 – 6 months. They are fashionably baggy, but mostly fit. The girl is growing.

Ezri has discovered things she particularly likes to watch.
The ceiling fan.
The lights in the kitchen.
The window.
The stuffed hippos that hang over her pack n’ play play yard.
Black & White by Tana Hoban – a book with high contrast silhouettes.
I am glad she has a current favorite book.
She also likes to listen to Dr. Seuss books and I like to read her nursery rhymes and Boynton books.

Ezri has been smiling for awhile now, but there was no photographic evidence.
Now, there is.
Check out it.
Don’t you just want to give her anything she wants to see that smile?

Amanda is glad to be able to wear Ezri.
She is snug and Amanda has her hands free.
