How tall is Ezri?

About firetruck wheel height.

Ezri enjoyed Classic Car Night and seeing this firetuck.

She has decided that to be a race car a car must be a convertible. We spotted a number of “race cars” at Car Night. Also, some real hot rods that were not “race cars” by Ezri’s definition.

She suggested to me that we make our black car (pontiac vibe) into a race car.
me: How would we do that?
ez: Cut the top off.
me: Would that make it faster?
ez: Yes, zoooom!
me: What would we do if it rained?
ez: Take the blue car.

Ezri speaks

A collection of conversation and quotes from Ezri.

“I am a big girl. You are a woman.” As she leaves the room ahead of me, “C’mon, woman!”

“I am a hooker. See, I have hooks for hands.” She likes the idea of Captain Hook and I am certain he would be even better with two hook hands. But, we really need her to rename this supervillain persona she’s developing.

Ezri is having trouble settling at bedtime. She makes up reasons she needs Eric to come back to see her. An example :
e (calling from her bed): Eric I NEED you.
E (exasperated): What do you need, Ezri?
e (pauses to think): My thumb is wet.
E: Did you put in your mouth?
e: Yes, dry it for me. I need you.
A few nights ago after we thought she was actually settled. We heard this over the baby monitor from the basement.
“Eric. . . ERIC!. . .Eric Benjamin! I need you. . . . . RIGHT NOW.” We laughed for a good long time before responding. I am afraid Ezri will have to learn the hard way that invoking the use of the middle name to command attention is a pattern of speech whose power is for the parents to use, not the offspring.

Ezri is enjoying singing the My Little Pony theme song. She can only sing three words – “My Little Pony” but she will keep at it repeating them for a good long time. Notably, she has only watched two episodes of the show EVER and it has a powerful place in her consciousness. The second episode we watched I tried to skip the theme song, but she called me on that and asked for the song.

We’ve stopped getting so many “Why?” questions, but now get gems like this,
“Do Wampas eat ponies?”

Ezri crashed her first party today.

We went to the playroom of the Westmont Yard and unwittingly entered an area being used by Abigail’s 6th birthday party. Ezri joined the twelve “big” girls who were having a dance party. The staff leader was inviting each girl to come to the center of the circle and teach the circle a dance move they liked. Ezri’s dance is holding up a peace sign with your right hand and a fist with your left hand and then doing small bounces double-time to the music. I am thankful to Abigail’s party and her mom for letting us crash the dance and bounce house portion. I am extra proud of Ezri for being willing to leave politely and let the party move on to relay races without us.

I have no photos and, really, I’d love a video of Ezri showing off her signature dance, but here she is sleeping because a post needs a photo.
