Ezri speaks

How does she sleep like that?

“Mama, is that a skyscraper?” While pointing at a 6 story suburban office building. We really need to take that trip into Chicago and show her the city. I asked her about Chicago and she said, “That’s where Adam lives. He goes on the train to Chicago.” This is true, but is the sum total of her Chicago knowledge and there may be other things about the city to learn.

Ezri: “Is this a bad guy?” pointing to a stamp of Buzz Lightyear we’d be using to play with our play dough.
Me: “No, it’s just Buzz Lightyear.”
Ezri: “Buzz Rightear,” she says while tugging on her right ear. “Buzz Right Ear! Right Ear!”

“I am a bee expert. Lollipop starts with B. I am enjoying my lollipop very much.”
I think she’s more of a bee novice.

“Big sisters usually get ice cream.”

“See, Ivan, this is walking. I am walking.” Ezri said this while pacing back and forth in front of the sleeping newborn brother we just brought home from the hospital in an attempt to teach him to walk.

Is anything more fun than the park with Meghan?

Upside down good times:

The swinging was so fun that I can’t pick just one photo.
Here are three:

We learned it’s not easy to get us all to look at a camera.
Smiles? Forget about it.

I’m a Big Sister Now!

Ezri was super excited to come with her grandparents and meet baby brother, Ivan, at the hospital.

Here she is on the day of his birth meeting him for the first time.

She helped adults hold him. Ezri really wants to hold him, but so far we are just letting her help.

She showed him her puppy magnets. She had me read him stories. She wanted to read him stories herself, but we didn’t have any books to which she knew all the words with us.

We are lucky the kitties in our house have reinforced the idea of gentle petting so well. She does a nice job gently patting Ivan and giving him kisses. Though, she also really wants to tickle him. . . Watch out, Ivan, your big sister is a tickler.
