Now that they’ve gone back home, Ezri is asking a lot about when we are visiting Bozeman and talking plans for the next time Tam and Mark visit.
She enjoyed mornings chatting with Tam and doing jigsaw puzzles on her iPad. These two are the morning people in the house.
She liked crafting a rabbit with her and going out for a fancy dinner with all four of her grandparents at Greek Islands.
We took Tam and Mark to Zootopia at the Tivoli and our favorite ice cream shop to introduce them to the kids’ favorite flavors of Lighthouse Cherry (Ezri) and Blue Moon (Ivan). Blue Moon’s biggest thrill is that the next day after consumption Ivan’s poop is green.
Ezri enjoyed telling her grandparents about her fairy powers and her friends and her toys and her books.
I loved this visit too.

Grandpa Mark thinking hard about which is his favorite LPS pet.

Ezri is loving this Hanukkah present from Grandma Liz.
She slept with Mandy at her side.

Ezri got Mandy up this morning and put her in daytime clothes that matched Ezri’s chosen outfit.
It is floral skirt day for the pair.
I bet tonight is Wonder Woman pj night again.

Tam and Mark came to stay with the kids for 3 days and 4 nights while Eric and I traveled to Wyoming to celebrate a good friend’s wedding. It was the first time Eric and I had both been away simultaneously since Ezri was born. Eric did spend one night in the hospital with Ivan and I after his birth – so we were both away from Ezri that night.
I missed my kids, but enjoyed myself. The reverse seems to be true of the kids. Here is a photo of the kids with the grandparents after our return – all still smiling. It is weird (though natural) that as they grow our lives become more separate and this first longer separation made me realize I am becoming less the center of their world. This is a good thing, but I anticipate nostalgia for these early years.

We read Jeff Mack’s picture book The Things I Can Do. It inspired us to think about the things Ezri can do. She is demonstrating that she can do a puppet show with her feet.

Here is a big pile of friends on the futon. While we were gone this same thing happened in the bathroom with a “hair salon” styling of the plush friends.

Ezri helped bake cupcakes for Grandpa Mark and applied the sprinkles herself. She gifted him with a small remote control robot named Torrant. She even let him play with the robot some too.
Oh, she gave him the special butterfly sticker on his forehead as well.
