April 11th, 2015 — outside play
Ivan fell asleep in the red wagon on the walk home from picking up Ezri at kindergarten.

Since he was napping, Ezri asked for chalk and made herself a hopscotch board. She then looked for sparkly rocks to play the game with. She took them and washed them to add extra sparkle in her game.

Ivan continued to nap.

Hopscotch is perfect for a windy spring day. Ivan is still napping behind that backpack in the wagon.

October 10th, 2014 — at play, outside play
It’s a serious time of day.

August 6th, 2014 — friends, outside play

Ezri is “an Anna” and “the Elsa” tries to freeze her with her snow queen powers. Ivan as “the Olaf” tags “Annas” to unfreeze them with the warmth of his love. So, basically just freeze tag.
And we had a picnic too.

July 21st, 2014 — milestones, outside play

Here she is as the queen of the web.
Ezri can also now go all the way across the monkey bars at our near park. ALL THE WAY ACROSS with no help. She is truly the amazing Ezri.
July 8th, 2014 — outside play
Ezri found a chrysalis on our sidewalk.
Later on we found a monarch fluttering in our backyard.

Because the butterfly was so fast, Ezri named it “Quickie.”
Ezri declared that as “the finder of the butterfly, I get to say and she is a girl.”
Ivan staunchly defended his idea that Quickie was a boy.
I refused to weigh in and said Quickie was whichever gender (s)he was.
Anyone know how to sex a Monarch butterfly?
In other backyard news, we discovered this today and look forward to eating it soon.

April 14th, 2014 — Ivan, outside play

Ezri enjoyed making sand birthday cakes for Cosia who is her imaginary friend and since she’s HER imaginary friend she gets decide Cosia’s favorite color and that color is blue so her birthday cake is blue, but Ivan can put green frosting on the cake if he wants and add the candles. Ivan just smiled and said, “I frosting! I frosting!”
Thanks to the Bacons for the sand turtle and the backyard chairs. It’s nice to feel our backyard welcoming us outside again with warmer weather.
February 17th, 2014 — outside play, snow
I thought we might name this snowman Olaf, but Ezri wanted to name her Elsa.
Meet Elsa.

December 21st, 2013 — Ivan, outside play, snow
Ivan liked shaking snow onto Ezri’s head.

I pulled both kids around in circles in the backyard.

Ezri pulled Ivan on the sled.

Ivan tried to pull Ezri. It was slow and worked best on the slight downhill slope, but there was movement.

In our sledding loop around the backyard, we waved hello to and greeted our friends the snowmen as we zoomed past. I also pulled the kids right up to the door of the playhouse many times to deliver them home by sled.

November 14th, 2013 — outside play, snow
We could not build a snowman, but there was enough to throw some snowballs, make footprints, and catch snowflakes on tongues.
