This chalkboard drawing at the local Caribou Coffee is a representation of Eric and Amanda in space.
Amanda is the one on the left.
I am enjoying that Ezri now draws representational art and I am flattered to be one of her muses.
Just another CarleSpawn weblog

“Look, Amanda, it’s you!”
“Are those my eyes?”
“No, your glasses.”
Also, these photos because they amuse me. Everyone was snuggling on the couch in contentment until I picked up the camera.

Ellie is a calico with lovely green eyes.
Ezri mixed paints to make green and orange for this artwork.
Eric drew the cat and Ezri painted.
I find something soulful about the finished painting.

Collaborative Art with me. I did the drawing. Ezri did the painting.
She had fun deciding what colors things should be. She also added a spot of brown to be the red bird pooping on the house. We talked about how most bird poop is white.
Her drawings are starting to be more representative. Here’s a ladybug where I can totally tell what she was going for. I labeled it.

This morning we were playing by the Recreation Center and Ezri declared herself to be on an Easter egg hunt. I thought good luck finding eggs. She wandered into the grass and returned with a golf ball. “I found a EGG!” She smiled. I looked back and realized the fence about 50 ft. away was the border between us and the local golf course. Perhaps, we can “egg” hunt in this field all summer long.
October 20th, 2011 — artwork, Ivan
Ezri enjoyed decorating this mobile project for Ivan with her stickers.
We printed out templates from this great craft blog for the Modern Paper Mobile.
I used an existing mobile frame meant for making a photo mobile.
Ezri liked holding it over Ivan’s head and watching him.
She is proud to have made something her little brother likes.
Ezri really wants to hang it in her room, but has agreed to hanging it over Ivan’s crib instead.

December 16th, 2009 — artwork, books
Ezri has been really enjoying photos lately, so I pulled out some photo albums and we flip through them and point at the people in the pictures.
She’s also been enjoying her Babybug magazines and will sit through the short rhymes and stories. Her ability to point and turn pages has really upped the fun at our storytimes around the house. She used to be more interested in chewing Babybug, and while that still holds appeal, she is more captured by reading together than ever before. Babybug has fingerplays we can do together which I appreciate.
Also, she did her first drawing today. Clearly she is an artiste. This work was done on a magnetic doodle toy, but soon she’ll be working in oils and pastels – or possibly we will start with crayons. I signed her initials at the bottom for her.
