Getting dressed

Amanda: It’s time to put on shoes.
Ezri: No wear shoes. I’m a penguin.
Amanda: That’s silly you are not a penguin.
Ezri: Yes. I is a penguin. Waddle Waddle Waddle Waddle Waddle

And now we’re wearing shoes, but it took awhile.

Ezri parties at a friend’s 4th birthday!

Ezri plants a flower to give to the birthday girl who loves the color orange.
This is her first use of her kid-sized garden tools.

At the party there were bubbles, cake, balls, slides, swings, and plenty of other kids to chase and run around with. We had a blast.

Party drinks.

Ezri rides the frog.

Sand is awesome. It’s like dirt, but the adults don’t mind if the kids dig in it.

Which of these two kids knows there’s a camera in play?

Arlington Outing

Ezri really enjoyed a front row seat to watch horses.

She also had her dad to lift her up for a better view.

Happy Birthday to Me.

I like ’em too.

This was just LUNCH – later we’re having brownies too.

Dressing Up

Friends who will let a toddler put a feather boa on them = priceless.

Ezri is a dog. Mark is a kitty.

Cardigan Concept Lesson Needed

Ezri did NOT want to wear a shirt.
She wanted to wear her sweater.
“Sweater. I wear sweater. NO SHIRT!”
I tried to explain shirt first THEN cardigan.
She was having none of it.
She also declared this piece of toilet tissue to be a hat.

Superlative Dinosaurs

Ezri practiced her superlatives with these rubber dinosaurs at the library.
There was the biggest and the smallest.
Also, the longest neck and the greenest.
She designated one the baby and one the mama and the stegosaurus was the grandpa.

She is now tall enough to use this drinking fountain without any assistance.
“I did it!!! Mama, Ezri drink self. No boost.”
The pride in her voice was priceless. We will be returning to this water fountain often.

OMG! – Oh My, George!

Curious George visited the arboretum for Arbor Day to plant a tree and greet children.

Ezri repeatedly slinked her way through throngs of children to get to George.
She would follow this monkey anywhere and is not shy about it.
Here she is giving him a high five.

Here she is dancing with George and super thrilled that he also danced.

I realize I only have photos of the back of her head, but there was no chance she was looking at a camera when there was a giant Curious George in the garden.

We also stopped to smell the flowers.

Umbrella

Ezri really wanted an umbrella when we saw them at the store.
She had seen other “big girls” with umbrellas walking in our neighborhood and she remains very into big girl status.

Here she is with her new pink, Dora the Explorer umbrella.
I tried to talk her into Hello Kitty or the frog umbrella, but she *really* wanted this one.
It was next to one covered in Barbie and I’m pretty happy that was not the one she wanted.

Pony Rock

Ezri called this rock Pony Rock.
“Pony rock. Look, mama, Ezri ride!”

Giddy-up, Pony Rock.
