Instead of napping, Ezri “took a little rest”

Ezri stayed in her room for about 20 minutes at nap time.
She emerged wearing the monkey hat and saying she just “took a little rest.”
Then she showed me how she had figured out how to climb the chair in her room and stand on its arm to open the high curtains.
YIKES!
I think the monkey was not resting.

It’s a Silly Face Contest!

Who do you think is the winner Ezri or her friend, Kinsie?

Round One

Round Two

Round Three

I don’t know who won, but these girls sure had FUN!

Ezri peeking

Here Ezri is peeking through the double stroller at the spot where Ivan rides and at Meghan’s camera.

I love the expression on her face.

Sprinkling the Cupcakes

This is from a while ago, but fun.

Apple Picking Time

This Saturday was so sunny and nice that we went out to the Jonamac Orchard in Malta.
We took Ivan in his wrap carrier and nursed him in the shade.
Ezri enjoyed apples, a hayride, her grandparents Liz & Harvey, the corn silo, and the petting zoo.
This was our second trip in what we hope will continue as an annual tradition.

It turns out Ezri is more of an apple eater than an apple picker.
She plonked down in the orchard and got right to work on an apple.

Here Ezri is posing with Grandma Liz as the infamous two-faced scarecrow.

Aww, Shucks!

Family of Four

We learned it’s not easy to get us all to look at a camera.
Smiles? Forget about it.

I’m a Big Sister Now!

Ezri was super excited to come with her grandparents and meet baby brother, Ivan, at the hospital.

Here she is on the day of his birth meeting him for the first time.

She helped adults hold him. Ezri really wants to hold him, but so far we are just letting her help.

She showed him her puppy magnets. She had me read him stories. She wanted to read him stories herself, but we didn’t have any books to which she knew all the words with us.

We are lucky the kitties in our house have reinforced the idea of gentle petting so well. She does a nice job gently patting Ivan and giving him kisses. Though, she also really wants to tickle him. . . Watch out, Ivan, your big sister is a tickler.
