A collection of conversations with Ezri:<\/p>\n

“I bringed woof-woof and pink blanket because thunder.” These are her comfort items and she brought them out of her bedroom when the storm started.
\nI love that we are getting a lot of past tense verbs these days and it’s particularly noticeable when the verbs are irregular so Ezri gets them wrong.
\nSo, she tells stories that go like this one about a family concert in the park:
\n“We goed to the park and did a picnic. And then Jason comed and I seed Jason. Then the music and he danced like this.” Here she wiggles her shoulders up and down in a fun imitation of Jason’s dancing skills.<\/p>\n

“Try some man soup, mama.” Ezri with a bowl with a plastic lego guy in it and a spoon just for me.<\/p>\n

Knock-knock jokes with Ezri
\nEzri: Mama, you say “knock-knock”
\nMe: Knock, Knock
\nEzri: Who’s there?
\nMe: Cargo
\nEzri: What’s Cargo?
\nMe: Cargo beep beep
\nbrief pause
\nEzri: Knock Knock! Who’s there?
\nMe: Anita
\nEzri: What’s Anita?
\nMe: Anita hug!
\nI opened my arms and scored the hug.
\nEzri: Knock knock Who’s there, mama?
\nMe: Boo
\nEzri: What’s Boo?
\nMe: Don’t cry it’s only a joke that would’ve made more sense if you’d said, “boo who?”<\/p>\n

After explaining that I was having a patty melt for dinner:
\n“I want a patty melt. I want a patty melt. I want MY OWN patty melt. . . What’s a patty melt?”<\/p>\n

Ezri awakens us in the middle of the night crying.
\nMe: What’s wrong?
\nEzri: I need a sticker. *sob* *sob*
\nI went and got a sticker and she wore it on her pajamas calming immediately. She snuggled with Eric and went back to sleep. I wonder what nightmare is remedied with the application of one sticker to the pajamas, but am grateful it was just that easy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
